Getting Here
The 1000 Scientist Jam event will be held at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, located at One Cyclotron Road, Berkeley, CA 94720. The meeting itself will take place in Building 59 on the LBNL campus.
All attendees are required to have a site access pass. Registered participants will receive this via email no later than 2 business days before the event.
Important: You must present both a state issued photo ID and a copy of your site access pass to access the Berkeley Lab campus.
Due to limited parking, the best ways to get to Berkeley Lab on the day of the event are either ride-sharing (e.g., Uber, Lyft) or taxi drop-off, or using the Berkeley Lab shuttle system.
Public Parking
Is available near the Lab: 9 minute walk to the Laboratory Shuttle system.
Stadium Parking Garage:

Ride-Share or Taxi
If you are taking a taxi or rideshare to the lab, both you and driver will need to show their photo ID at the gate, as well as your site access pass.
If you are being picked up by a taxi or rideshare, it's recommended that you meet them at parking lot F (directly outside the Blackberry Canyon Entrance).
BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) services both the Oakland International Airport and the San Francisco International Airport.
The Downtown Berkeley BART station is the station that services Berkeley Lab.
Take the Berkeley Lab Shuttle
To take the shuttle, you will need to show (1) photo ID and (2) your site access pass.
For information on shuttle routes and times, go to: https://commute.lbl.gov/service/shuttle-buses/

Driving a Personal Car
There is very limited parking available on the lab’s main site. It is recommended that if you do drive, you arrive early in order to find parking. You will also need to request a temporary parking permit when registering.
Walking from the Main Shuttle Stop to B59 Entrance
Starting at the shuttle stop, cross the street using the crosswalk. Once across, walk up the hill, staying on the right side as you pass the fire hydrant. Continue until you reach the B59 plaza; the main entrance door is located midway along the building’s front.
