Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will be one of several DOE National Laboratories convening a 1000-Scientist Advanced Reasoning Model Assessment Jam, to be conducted across the national lab complex. Commercial AI Laboratories, such as OpenAI, will provide all participants with access to their latest reasoning models to tackle complex scientific challenges.
Berkeley National Laboratory will host approximately 180 attendees, primarily LBNL scientists and researchers, including postdocs, from various domains. The full-day working session will involve posing scientific questions, recording inputs, outputs, results, and analyzing model responses. More detailed information is provided in the Call for Participation document below.

Lunch will be provided to all participants at Berkeley Lab to enable focus throughout the event.
This is an in-person AI Jam Session open ONLY to DOE national laboratory employees. Participants must register at the specific hosting laboratory where they will be attending the AI Jam Session and should not register at multiple national laboratories. Applying does not guarantee participation, as space is limited. You will be notified with in a week of registration if you are confirmed for the event. Do not make travel plans until you have a confirmation email from the hosting laboratory. Note that we expect there will be other opportunities to participate in the future.
